“My husband and I were looking for a getaway place that we didn’t have to drive a day to get to. We found it at Wasatch Lake. What an incredible place it is! From the minute we drove into the Compound, we knew it was going to be a very peaceful, relaxing experience. Jeff met us at the gate, what a guy! Took us to our cabin, #1 which is in my mind, the absolute best one, except for the owner’s house…..LOL! Told us about the all the amenities, the fishing, the beach, the trails, the Clubhouse. We immediately fell in love! My husband had a wonderful time fishing, and I had a magical time walking the trails. It renewed our spirits and souls. The pigs are so darling, as are the kitties. We saw bald eagles, and so many other beautiful birds. And, me, the novice fisherman, snagged an albino catfish! We also ate at Cook’s Corner Cafe which Jeff and Dawn own in the town of Poland, wonderful and delicious home cooked meals, it was fabulous, and we highly recommend that you have at least one meal there. We are thrilled that we found this home away from home, and are looking forward to coming back soon!”

“My husband purchased each of our adult children a weekend cabin for Easter. A small hiccup that could have been disastrous occurred but very thankful for the folks at Wasatch Lake to make it all work. There was 20 of us and we all had a great relaxing weekend. We fished, mushroom hunted, walked trails, made several trip to visit the piglets. Our Easter Egg hunt was a success down at Cabin nines yard!! Thanks so much for all you done.”

    “Peaceful Retreat”

    5/5 *****

“I wanted to enjoy a cabin directly on a lake close to my home in central Indiana–one that provided human powered boats (canoe, kayak, pedalboat, rowboat), walking paths, birdsong–a peaceful setting free from crowds and motor noise. I also didn’t want the cost to break my bank. Wasatch Lake Resort was very much what I hoped for. Our cabin (a two bedroom) had recently been renovated and was very pleasant and well appointed. We stayed in Peach Blossom, a two bedroom that is a little bit removed from cabins 1 through 4, but close enough to everything we wanted to make use of. Three of my friends came down from our town (23 miles away) one day to play bridge on my deck overlooking the lake and were so charmed, one of them plans to come with her husband to birdwatch, boat, and swim in the fall. Another of my friends has been coming for a week for at least 10 years. I will certainly be back too, probably this year. I knew that grocery stores and restaurants were at least 13 miles away (except for a Dollar General about 6 miles down the road), so I brought all foods, condiments, and spices I needed with me. The cabin has a fully furnished kitchen (dishes, silverware, pots and pans, coffee maker, microwaves, stove and fridge) as well as outdoor grill, table and chairs, and picnic bench. We had some very pleasant weather, but for the hot and humid days, the air conditioner was very comforting, and evening on the lake was a delight. We liked the caretakers, too, who were friendly and very helpful. The lake is a 50 acre private one, surrounded by woods and walking paths. Our cabin was close to the lodge, which has room for larger gatherings, a card table, ping pong, a pool table and and other simply games, as well as wi-fi access. It’s possible you will have no reception for your phone and the cabins have no landlines. Oh yes, there’s TV in the cabin with excellent reception to lots of channels and a DVD player if you want to bring your own favorites. Thanks, Cynthia”
